Recipe Ideas & Kitchen Tips

Our Spanish Rice is a versatile base for many kitchen creations. Try these variations:

  • One-Pan Spanish Skillet: Brown 1 lb of ground beef or turkey in the pan before adding the water and rice mix for a complete, easy-to-clean meal.

  • Smoky Shrimp & Rice: Add peeled, deveined shrimp during the last 5 minutes of simmering for a quick seafood paella-style dish.

  • Vegetable Garden Rice: Stir in a small can of diced green chiles and a cup of frozen peas and carrots for added texture and nutrition.

  • Authentic Taco Filling: Use the prepared Spanish Rice as a layer inside your burritos or tacos to add bulk and savory flavor.

  • Stuffed Bell Peppers: Mix the prepared rice with cooked sausage or black beans and use it to fill bell peppers before baking them with a layer of cheese on top.

Chef’s Note

"For a deeper, restaurant-style color and richness, replace half of the water with tomato juice or add a tablespoon of tomato paste to the water before it reaches a boil."
