Recipe Ideas & Kitchen Tips

Expand your menu with these delicious twists on the classic Stroganoff:

  • Mushroom Lover's Upgrade: Sauté 1 cup of fresh sliced cremini or button mushrooms with the beef for added texture and earthiness.

  • Ground Beef Stroganoff: For a budget-friendly weeknight version, swap the sliced steak for 1 lb of ground beef—the flavor remains just as rich.

  • Meatless Mushroom Stroganoff: Replace the beef with a variety of mushrooms (Portobello, Shiitake, and Oyster) for a hearty vegetarian alternative.

  • Stroganoff Over Potatoes: Try serving the rich sauce over creamy mashed potatoes or even crispy roasted potato wedges.

Chef’s Note

"To prevent the sour cream from curdling, make sure the skillet is off the heat before stirring it in. For an extra punch of flavor, add a teaspoon of Dijon mustard at the very end."
